About
My name is Sharon, and I'm a counsellor registered with the Australian Counselling Association. ( ACA )
I provide a culturally safe, caring, non judgmental and supportive space; one where we can work together to help you find your way when you may be troubled by what’s going on in your life. I meet you where you are at.
Drawing on evidence based therapies and tools, we can work together to explore what is going on for you, and find ways to work through your problems, and access your real strengths; so that you can live life in a way that is vital, full and really yours!
I work in a holisitic way, taking in to account how your mind, body and life experience can have an impact on the whole of your wellbeing. As an integrative counsellor, I weave together therapies that align most with you as an individual and your specific goals.
My practice is informed by therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychotherapeutic approaches such as Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and a variety of other tools and techniques depending on what’s right for you.
It can be a really difficult decision to decide to invest in yourself by working with a Counsellor, and people do so for so many reasons. Maybe issues have built up over a long time, or life has hit hard unexpectedly. You could be faced with something that you feel you really need help navigating, involving stresses, sadness or anxiety that seem overwhelming; or maybe you simply want to stress less and be the best version of you possible.
These may sound like very general reasons; but if you are experiencing them, then I am sure you can relate them to very real and personal situations. And if they are occurring to the extent that they are really getting in the way of you living life fully, then counselling support could be for you.
And working with a counsellor is a real investment in yourself.
